Hello, this is my second blog post (Kaimana). I now finished the title sequence. I first of started by looking at title sequences and good examples to inspire me and to see what is possible.

After speaking to my team members, we decided it would be good to a have a parrot related ‘introduction’ before the actual interviews start. Adam went out to shoot some live footage of parrots in London. I cut the individual videos to a sequence that looked nice and then thought about the text. The first thing was the title of the video which is ‘Parrots in London’. I chose to put the ‘in London’ part underneath ‘Parrots’ and also slightly after it to create a more sophisticated effect. I tried to choose the best shots for each of the text frames and tried to make the overlays as smooth as possible. I also deliberately added breaks between some of the text frames to make the video more apparent and to add this natural pause for breathing when reading. After the title I needed to introduce the subject of parrots. I chose to do this modestly because it fit best with the video footage i.e. I did not add a lot of text. And again I chose to add breaks to make everything seem more natural.
I found the credits at the end to be more challenging. After looking at credits from various films I tried it out myself. I put all of the information on one ‘slide’.
I did not like the outcome because it did not look dynamic and nice. So I decided that I would split it up and that each of the people mentioned would get their own ‘timeframe’. The style is similar to the introduction videos because I wanted the viewer to have a sense of knowing the start and end points of the video. Some final changes include making the text smaller as I thought it looked a bit too big and I had to solve a problem because one of the text frames moved.

As of now we are just finishing to compile all the footage to one final outcome. Our group will meet one day before the hand in to discuss details and to change and edit things if needed. I really enjoyed working with everyone in the team and think our video is very interesting, we definitely put a lot of work into it.
