Reacting to my script I came up with an idea of a model. I wanted to use the similarity of the both the child’s and adult’s imagination, as I found this was stronger than the difference in a child’s and adult’s imagination. Also the difference was already being explored in the video. I wanted to look at how the right-side of the brain, that is responsible for imagination responded to the left side of the brain, which is responsible for logic went being asked possible theories. Therefore I created a sketch of the model.
The model would be a sphere, and split in half. One half showing the right side of the brain and the other half showing the left side of the brain. To show how the two interact in the adult’s and child’s responses in my design I created a stair case that meant the person could easily enter each side of the brain. This shows how imagination is created in our right side of the brain, but associations are pulled from our left side of the brain.
To design the right side of the brain I used my research in Pan’s Labyrinth. I was inspired by the use of nature portraying the vastness and endlessness of our imagination. To design the left side of the brain I wanted to use furniture that was familiar and safe to us and therefore chose a dark brown leather sofa, a dark brown wood bookshelf, a dark brown wood coffee table and a traditional red rug. All these pieces of furniture are both familiar to use and give the impression of a warm and comfortable environment.

After all this development I was ready to design the room that we would present in.
