First I looked at the script. What I noticed was that the adult was more descriptive when explaining their theories/ answers to the question. This is because the adult has more experiences and knowledge in the everyday world. Saying this, because a child has had less experiences in life they are less judgemental and therefore have a freer imagination as they have not associated objects with a certain idea. The similarity I found from the script was that both the child’s and adult’s imagination came form certain experiences and therefore logic of certain actions. For example, when asked how the parrot got around London the child answered “I think it would like the bus”. Both the child and adult were personifying the parrots actions from experiences that they already went through.
I looked at surrealist films as surrealists embody the humans want of imagination. When looking at these films I noticed the use of closeups of objects that created a pattern. The patterns were shown with a black background and the close up in white. The use of patterns can relate to imagination as imagination is a none-existent thing that is often described with using colour and shapes.

I also looked at Pan’s Labyrinth to look at how production designers used the idea of imagination reacting with reality. In this film there is a dark portrayal of a child’s imagination as (Name of person) uses her imagination to escape reality. In our video we were exploring a more innocent view on imagination rather than a dark interpretation of imagination. However I did look at the use of light and space. There is a lot of closed spaces where the light is concentrated on one spot. The use of light interested me as I could see how you can manipulate light by changing colour and concentrating it on one spot.
